Privacy Policy — Raise Them Ready
Last updated: 13 July 2026
1. Who we are
Raise Them Ready ("we", "us", "our") provides an online service that generates personalised learning activities for children and helps parents and home educators keep a record of what's been covered.
- Data controller: Stacey Connolly
- Contact for privacy matters: home-ed-journey@outlook.com
2. What data we collect
Account data (about you, the parent/account holder)
- Email address
- Password (stored securely, hashed — we never see or store it in plain text)
- First name
- Subscription and billing status (see Section 5 — Payments)
Child profile data (entered by you, about your child)
- Child's first name
- Child's age (we only accept ages 10–16, reflecting the age range this service is designed for)
- Interests you add for your child (e.g. "football", "dinosaurs")
We do not currently collect photographs of children. If this changes in a future version of the service, this policy will be updated first, and the feature will be clearly optional.
Content you create or generate
- Details of challenges generated for your child (subject, difficulty, and the generated activity content)
- Any activities you manually log, including free-text descriptions you write yourself
- Completion status and dates for activities
Support requests
If you submit a bug report or support request, we collect the description you provide, your account email, your browser/device information (automatically captured, to help us diagnose issues), and an optional screenshot if you choose to attach one.
Waitlist signups (if you join our beta waitlist before creating an account)
- Name and email address, collected when you join the waitlist via our website
We use this to contact you about early access and any launch offers. This is separate from having an account — joining the waitlist does not create an account or give you access to the Service itself.
3. How we use your data, and why (our legal basis)
| What we do | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Create and manage your account | To provide the service you've signed up for | Necessary for our contract with you |
| Generate personalised challenges | This is the core service | Necessary for our contract with you |
| Process payments and manage your subscription | To charge for the service | Necessary for our contract with you |
| Store your child's completed activity records | So you can review and export them as evidence | Necessary for our contract with you |
| Respond to support requests | To help you when something isn't working | Legitimate interest (providing customer support) |
| Contact you about early access if you join our waitlist | You've asked us to keep you updated | Consent — you can withdraw this at any time by asking us to remove you from the waitlist, or via any unsubscribe link in our emails |
| [Analytics, if/when added] | To understand how the service is used and improve it | Legitimate interest / consent, depending on the tool used |
4. How AI is used with your data
We use Anthropic's Claude AI to:
- Generate personalised challenge content, based on your child's age, an interest you select, and a difficulty level you choose
- Tidy the wording of activities you log yourself in your own words, and suggest relevant skill tags — the AI does not invent or add details you didn't provide
The AI does not interact directly with your child. It does not receive your child's full name — only their age and the interest/subject you've selected are sent to generate content. The AI does not grade, mark, or make judgements about your child's answers or abilities.
Data handling and retention. We access Claude through Anthropic's commercial API, which is governed by Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service — a different, stricter set of terms than Anthropic's consumer plans (Claude Free, Pro, Max), which have separate rules including optional model-training use. Under our Commercial Terms:
- Data we send is not used to train Anthropic's models, under any circumstances — this is a standing commitment under the Commercial Terms, not a setting we or you need to opt in or out of.
- Prompts and outputs are retained only for the minimum time technically necessary (Anthropic's own documentation describes conversation content as "not retained by default" for standard API use).
5. Payments
We use Stripe to process subscription payments. We do not store your full card details ourselves — these are handled directly by Stripe. Stripe receives your email address and payment information necessary to process your subscription. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle this data.
6. Who we share data with
We share data with the following third-party providers, who process it on our behalf to deliver the service:
- Anthropic (AI content generation — see Section 4)
- Stripe (payment processing — see Section 5)
- Supabase (hosting, database, and authentication infrastructure — stores your account, child profile, and activity data)
- Systeme.io (email marketing platform — if you join our waitlist, your name and email are shared with Systeme.io so we can send you updates. We do not send your child's data to Systeme.io under any circumstances.)
We do not sell your data, or your child's data, to any third party. We do not use your child's data for advertising purposes.
7. Children's data specifically
Our service is intended to be used by parents and home educators on behalf of their children. Children do not create their own accounts, log in, or interact directly with the service — all activity is initiated and controlled by the parent/guardian account holder.
We collect only the minimum information about a child necessary to personalise their learning activities: first name, age, and interests, entered by the parent.
8. How long we keep your data
- Account and child profile data is kept for as long as your account is active.
- If you delete your account, we will delete your account and child profile data promptly.
- Support request records are kept for 3 months, to allow us to track recurring issues.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and your child
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Object to certain processing
- Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at home-ed-journey@outlook.com.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we haven't handled your data properly: ico.org.uk.
10. Cookies
We currently use only strictly necessary cookies required to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls via Supabase's row-level security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know via email / an in-app notice.
13. Contact us
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at home-ed-journey@outlook.com.
